My Role: UX Researcher and Designer

This is a collaborative design project for an exchange semester in Sweden lasting eight weeks. As a UX researcher and designer, I contributed to gathering insights and shaping the user experience. My main contributions were in research, interface design, and motion design. I conducted interviews with my teammates, gaining valuable insights from the content to help inform our design decisions. Working collaboratively, I assisted in designing features, developing wireframes, and refining the final design.

Research:
How do the police influence the public online?

The Swedish police want to engage more with people in the digital world, so they have also created social accounts. They want to integrate more into people's lives and build trust with citizens.

Interview

Interviews were conducted to gain insight into the thoughts of police officers and teenagers, and parents.

“I had had the experience phoning the police, they follow the rules so strictly and forgot that there are people involved in these things.”

“It’s not monitoring my kids, it’s making them aware of them...for presence, I want 24/7, 365, it’s a resource question.”

Report guidance

In order to improve the reporting process, we set up an online reporting system. People can choose to report on the platform or in Cova's system, and the police will then receive the corresponding report.

In order to better guide young users, we use chat to guide them through the process step by step.

After capturing screenshots and voice proofs, we also ask users to enter their current mood so that the police can better understand and strengthen their connection with the user's mood.

Impact and Feedback

The program was well received and appreciated by the police officers and was featured in the newspaper. We hope that in the future more children and young people will be more aware of cybercrime and will be able to protect themselves and report it in time.
